Fused deposition modeling, or FDM, is a rapid prototyping process that creates precise, durable thermoplastic products. rp+m’s equipment enables production of prototypes and functional end-use parts.

 

Using FDM, we can create parts that are less expensive, from a total cost perspective, than traditional injection-molded parts by eliminating the need to invest in tooling. We can create prototypes extremely quickly - often within hours or a day.

 

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is an additive manufacturing technology that builds items layer-by-layer using engineering-grade thermoplastics. This building process makes it possible to create complex configurations. The materials used for FDM are similar to those used for traditional injection-mold processes, meaning the parts can often be tested according to environmental conditions in which the part will ultimately need to be tested.
